FIR against Madhu Koda for violating model code of conduct

An FIR was lodged against former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, an independent candidate from Singhbhum (ST) Lok Sabha seat, for allegedly violating the model code of conduct.

An FIR was lodged against former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, an independent candidate from Singhbhum (ST) Lok Sabha seat, for allegedly violating the model code of conduct.

Mangal Singh Bobonga, a Jharkhand Vikas Morcha candidate from the same seat, lodged a complaint against Koda following which the FIR was lodged in Khuntpani police station.

According to the complaint, Koda had organised a meeting recently at a government school premise in Barkela village under Khuntpani block of West Singhbhum without prior permission, Deputy commissioner-cum-district election officer Sunil Kumar said.

Besides, Koda was alleged to have arranged food for the people who took part in the meeting, he added.
