A fruity fragrance seems to be the hottest factor that major company’s cash on these days. For a glossy lipstick, choose from strawberry, apple, chocolate or mint. The fig and honey flavoured hair conditioners are also hot. Recently, Marico launched Silk-n-Shine, a new product that has fruit extracts with an orange fragrance, unveiled at the Taj Mahal Hotel. “A product with a fruity fragrance has a feel good factor. It makes one feel good about one’s hair, skin or lips. The product is ideal for a working women who don’t have much time to look after her hair,” said Harsh Mariwala, Chairman and MD, Marico.

Silk-n-Shine helps untangle hair and also makes it soft and manageable. “It’s a quick, problem solving potion targeted for all ages and all hair types,” said Mariwala.

The models at the show included Gladrags Megamodel first runner-up Amanpreet Wahi, Ramneek Paintal and Angela Sharma (who are still waiting for that big break). Nattly dressed, they walked the ramp with elan.

Freelance hair stylist Mrignaina, who has worked with several designers including Suneet Varma, gave a demonstration to show how to apply the product and how easily you can style your hair with it. “The vitamin-enriched product also helps to protect your hair from breaking and prevents the painful combing experience due to dry hair,” said Mrignaina.

Make-up and hair stylist Vidya Tikari felt: “This is a season for fruity colours and flavours. But the one thing that people should keep in mind before they pick up these kind of products is that they should go for the better known brands as opposed to the newer ones.”
