An indefinite lock-out was declared in the tea garden of Mcleod Russel group after workers assaulted four managers in Assam's Dibrugarh district, company sources said on Saturday.

Senior manager Manish Sehgal, acting manager Bipul Gogoi and assistant managers Gautam Hazarika and Pranjit Gogoi were assaulted by workers of Panikhowa Tea Estate on Thursday evening following a dispute over the release of a person allegedly accused of stealing of green leaf.
The managers were not injured seriously but the management of the company after a meeting decided to declare an indefinite lockout of the company since Friday.
The district Labour office, the civil and police administration and trade unions have been informed about the situation, sources added.
