Criticising the power development department, he said that the people of Jammu region are made to suffer from scheduled and unscheduled power cuts. He said the situation has deteriorated further during the last few days.

Lambasting the government for its highly parochial and biased approach, Singh pointed towards the most obnoxious aspects of power distribution within the state.

Citing figures, he said the power consumption between the Jammu and Kashmir regions is in the ration of 40:60 respectively, but when it comes to revenue realisation, Jammu contributes more than 66% of power tariff with barely 33 percent coming from the Kashmir region.
