Kunal Kohli is truly basking in Indian summer these days. With Fanaa having destroyed all skeptics at the BO, the director is now in the league of Bollywood biggies.

"I love compliments," says Kunal while on a visit to the city recently for a Spice World do.

Success mantra

"I love what I do and I do what I believe in," says Kunal on what keeps him clicking. That explains his hit Hum Tum after the debut dud Mujhse Dosti Karogi. But, being an outsider, he had to take the circuitous route of TV and music videos before hitting the big screen. Now he may soon start his own production house.

"I’ll still be associated with Yash Raj as they’ll take care of the publicity work of my films."

Big subjects

In all his three films, Kunal has worked with big stars. Is it difficult to work with them? "Oh, it’s not difficult," he says. And what about the rumour that Aamir Khan signed Fanaa only when assured of Aditya Chopra’s presence on the sets?

Kunal snaps, "How can it be true? If that was the case, Adi would have directed Fanaa himself instead of asking me to do it."
