And if you have applied, your chance of getting a flat is one in 100 as Mhada has received over four lakh applications for its 3,863 flats. Wednesday was the last day for submission of forms.

“We will now start data entry of these forms into various categories: economically weak, low-income, middle-income and high-income,” said H.K. Javale, CEO Mumbai Board, Mhada.

However, there could be a delay in the lottery draw due to the sheer number of forms and given the fact that general elections will be announced soon as Mhada officials will be put on poll duty.

“We have submitted a proposal that if the lottery draw is delayed by more than three months we will refund the deposits with interest,” said Javale. “The proposal is pending with the Mhada board.”
