Pune doctor nabbed for conducting pre-natal test

The doctor was already under suspicion and was caught after a trap was laid by a local NGO.

A doctor, who was the member of a committee entrusted with the responsibility to prevent pre-natal tests, has been nabbed while carrying out the malpractice at his clinic in Thergaon, Pune.

Dr Mohan Nange, 42, a member of Pre-Conception Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques District Committee, was caught by the police and health officials while conducting the sex determination test on a patient for Rs 3000.

His clinic has been subsequently sealed.

The accused doctor was under watch for some time due to previous suspicions and was finally caught after a set-up by an NGO named Akhil Bharatiya Janvadi Mahila Sanghatana.
