Tamil super star Rajnikanth's call to defeat all the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) candidates in fray in the May 10 Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu seems to have little impact on the voters in the Vanniyar heartland.

Annoyed over PMK's remarks on certain scenes in his film 'Baba' released two years back, Rajnikant had asked his fans to work for the defeat of the party in all the six Lok Sabha seats and ensure the success of the AIADMK-BJP combine's nominees there.

However, areas such as Chengalpattu, Tindivanam, Chidambaram, Arakonam, Dharmapuri and Pondicherry appear to be calm and there are no signs of Rajnikant fans campaigning against PMK candidates.

Undeterred by Rajnikant's call, PMK cadre is working overtime to ensure the success of the party nominees in these seats.

Meanwhile, Rajnikant's fans were said to be active in pockets of Dharmapuri Lok Sabha seat and were working for the success of the BJP nominee P D Elangovan, who had crossed over to BJP after PMK refused to renominate him.
