Gawali, MP from Washim, had led a farmers' rasta roko andolan' (road blockade) in Mangrulpir tehsil of Washim district in 2005 which had disrupted traffic for sometime, was released on Wednesday by the Magistrate court.

The police had then booked 17 agitators including Gawali under section 135 of the Indian Penal Code. Later, the police filed an FIR against all the 17 accused and the case was pending before the First Class Magistrate.

Though summon was served on Gawali, she could not appear before the court due to her busy schedule.

Yesterday, Gawali personally appeared before the court and moved an application for bail. After hearing the counsels, the Magistrate granted her bail on furnishing a bond of Rs 7,000.
