The software solution, developed in collaboration with SuccessFactors Inc, mainly targets small and medium enterprises. It follows a pay-per-use model.

"Tata Communications has global networking capabilities. We are looking at bundling this with our software offerings," said Mukul Sood, vice-president, content and applications, Tata Communications Limited. "IT spend in India in the SME sector is currently $7 billion and is expected to double by 2017."

Tata Communications has also tied up with Google for Insta-apps and plans to introduce more applications and services in the enterprise space. The company expects to tap 20-25% of the marketshare.

Another Tata group company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), is also targeting the SME sector with cloud-based iON solution.

However, Sood ruled out any direct competition.

"Our value propositions are very different and I don't think we would be affecting each other," said Sood.
