LIEUTENANT GENERAL OP Nandrajog, AVSM, VSM, general officer commanding-in-chief, Central Command, paid tributes to martyrs at 1 Signal Training Centre (STC) War Memorial in Jabalpur, on the occasion of Army Day on January 15.

Major General Ashok Khosla, general officer commanding Central India, escorted him and they were received by Brigadier NP Sharma, commandant, 1 STC at the war memorial. A large number of officers, JCOs and jawans also attended the ceremony.
The war memorial has been constructed in the memory of those soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
Lieutenant general OP Nandrajog presided over the investiture ceremony in which 31 awardees, including 04 ‘Veer Naris’ were felicitated.
Amongst those awarded were valiant soldiers who displayed exceptional courage in combating the enemy in the freezing environs of Siachin, Line of Control or in Counter Terrorism Operations in Jammu and Kashmir and the northeast.
A total of 1 Yudh Seva Medal, 22 Sena Medals, 7 Vishishth Seva Medals and 1 BAR to Vishishth Seva Medal were awarded for exceptional bravery and devotion to duty.
Lt Gen Nandrajog and his wife, Kiran, also interacted with the awardees and the ‘Veer Naris’ to inquire about their welfare and problems faced by them.
In his address, the general officer congratulated the awardees and exhorted all troops under the Central Command to emulate the bravery and devotion to duty displayed by them.
