On Tuesday, after being discharged from Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Yeddyurappa made a dramatic exit from the back gate of the hospital from where he was taken to Victoria Hospital.
Yeddyurappa was discharged after he insisted on being treated in the jail. Earlier, his admission to Victoria Hospital was severely criticised.
“He’s upset about the media coverage and the bad press that he’s receiving,” BJP MLA and Yeddyurappa confidante V Somanna told a news channel. But party insiders say the 68-year-old leader was peeved over the little support he got from senior BJP leader LK Advani.
Advani had slammed Yeddyurappa, saying he had refused to pay any heed to constant warnings from the party high command. “We had cautioned him after the lokayukta report. But he didn’t listen and has to pay price,” said Advani.
The Karnataka high court will hear Yeddyurappa’s bail plea on Thursday.
