Lokayukta deputy superintendent of police BS Parihar said assistant commissioner Umesh Tiwari and taxation assistant Ranchhor Bhanwar were booked under sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.

Parihar further said that Tiwari had intercepted a truck laden with groceries on Wednesday night which was of one Jitendra, a resident of Vijay Nagar, and demanded Rs 60,000 as bribe. Jitendra contacted the Lokayukta and filed a complaint with SP on Thursday morning.

"Lokayukta police laid a trap and when Jitendra went to hand over the money, Tiwari instructed to give the money to Ranchhor Bhanwar. Lokayukta police trapped both the officials red-handed," said Parihar.

Tiwari is a 2005 batch Public Service Commission officer.
