With just 10 days left for the municipal polls, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress are all set to rope in big names to add a tinge of glamour to the elections.
This election will see array of “star” campaigners like actors-turned-MPs Nagma and Raj Babbar, Congress MLA from Mumbai Priya Dutt and chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. “We have planned to call in some star campaigners for elections. Nagmaji has come before and she is quite popular like Priya Dutt and Raj Babbarm” said AK Mishra, spokesperson of the state Congress committee.
The Congress is also planning to rope in former chief minister and party general secretary Digvijaya Singh, MPs Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia and Suresh Pachouri for the campaign.
“Their presence works wonders on both the parties, candidates and crowd. They infuse them with a new energy to fight elections,” said another member from the Congress. As the Congress is leaving no stone unturned to rope in “bigwigs” to campaign for the upcoming polls, the ruling BJP is banking on Chouhan and other senior party leaders from the state for a win.
“We have worked really hard in the past. Our hard work will be a proof. We do not need any glamour quotient as people will see hard work,” said a BJP leader here.
