Mumbai Indians have been in fine form in IPL 2017. In the league stages, they won 10 out of 14 games and finished on top of the league table. However, out of their five losses in this edition, three have come against Rising Pune Supergiant, the team they will square off in the final.
Mumbai Indians started off with a loss against Rising Pune Supergiant but bounced back in style, winning their next two games. However, their game against Royal Challengers Bangalore proved their resilience and depth. After being reduced to 33/5 thanks to Samuel Badree’s hat-trick, Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya stitched a 93-run stand to help Mumbai Indians to a crucial win. This gave them immense momentum as they won their next six games. However, they suffered a hat-trick of losses to Rising Pune Supergiant but bounced back in the second qualifier to beat Kolkata Knight Riders for the 16th time in 21 games.
Parthiv Patel has been great while opening the batting while Jasprit Bumrah put in a match-winning performance in the super-over against Gujarat Lions and in the second qualifier against Kolkata Knight Riders, where he picked up 3/7. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Krunal and Hardik Pandya have contributed immensely.
