The Australian batsman uploaded an image to social media platform to let fans know that he had flown to Dubai for the short vacation.

“Ducked off to Dubai for a couple of days in my 6 day break and discovered some magnificent Acai bowls #pineappleexpress @pineappleexpresscafe (sic),” Smith captioned an image of bowls of fruit uploaded to his Instagram profile.

Rising Pune Supergiant are precariously placed seventh in the eight-team IPL table having lost three of their five matches so far.

Smith’s short holiday will mean RPS will be without their skipper for the home match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 22 and away match against Mumbai Indians on April 24. He may be back in the fold for the home match against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 26.

Smith had previously missed Rising Pune Supergiant’s match against Delhi Daredevils on April 11 because of an upset stomach. Ajinkya Rahane had served as stand-in captain then as Delhi Daredevils won the match by 97 runs.

Rahane will be expected to be the stand-in skipper in Smith’s absence once again but RPS will be short of the Australian’s explosive batting ability.

South African Faf du Plessis had filled in for Smith in the batting order for the match against Delhi Daredevils.
