Lok Sabha Elections 2019: With Pune done, political parties concentrate on Maval, Shirur
According to NCP workers, Ajit Pawar has instructed party workers from Pune to concentrate on campaigning for Kolhe and Parth
With the completion of polling for the Pune and Baramati constituencies, political parties have now shifted their focus to Maval and Shirur constituencies in Pune district which will vote on April 29.
Shirur Lok Sabha constituency is currently held by Shiv Sena’s Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil. He was elected for the third consecutive term in 2014. From the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Dr Amol Kolhe is their candidate in Shirur.
Parth Pawar, the third-generation scion of the Pawar family, will contest the Lok Sabha elections on a NCP ticket from Maval. Parth Pawar’s opposition in Maval is the Shiv Sena’s Shrirang Barne.
According to NCP workers, Ajit Pawar has instructed party workers from Pune to concentrate on campaigning for Kolhe and Parth.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena have also instructed workers to campaign in nearby constituencies. While Hadapsar and Katraj fall under the Shirur Lok Sabha constituency, Pimpri-Chinchwad falls under the Maval constituency.
Public rallies have been organised by the NCP and Shiv Sena for Shirur and Maval. NCP leaders Sharad Pawar, Ajit Pawar, Supriya Sule, Dhananjay Munde and Sunil Tatkare will be campaigning for Parth.
Shiv Sena leaders Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and guardian minister Girish Bapat will be campaigning in the two constituencies for Shiv Sena candidates.
