CBN officials caught accepting bribe

Two cops of Central Bureau of Narcotics have been caught red-handed from Khurram Nagar area in Lucknow by the CBI for accepting bribe from a businessman, sources said.

Two cops of Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) have been caught red-handed from Khurram Nagar area in Lucknow by the CBI for accepting bribe from a businessman, sources said on Friday.

Inspector S K Hingar and sub-inspector Shobhit Bisht were caught on Thursday for accepting a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh from chemical dealer Kartar Singh of Ghazibad, they said.

The duo was allegedly threatening Singh to implicate him in a false case if he did not pay the sum.

Singh then approached DIG CBI Pankaj Srivastava and sought his help to nab the "corrupt officials", they added.

A case has been registered against the erring officials.
