A 25-year-old professor of dentistry from an Ambernath-based college was killed in a road accident on Thursday morning.
A 25-year-old professor of dentistry from an Ambernath-based college was killed in a road accident on Thursday morning.

The victim, Neha Mirchandani, 25, is a resident of Ulhasnagar.
Neha had been riding pillion with her father as the two was heading towards her college. He tried to overtake a truck near Pappu Kalani Bungalow, when a speeding autorickshaw crashed into them from the opposite side. The impact knocked the two off the bike, after which, the truck’s rear tyre crushed Neha’s skull.
“Neha was taken to the nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival. We have taken down Neha’s father’s statement. A case has been lodged against the autorickshaw driver, who has fled. His identity is yet to be ascertained. Our officers are on the lookout for him. We are going through the CCTV camera footage to find out more. We will soon arrest the accused. He will be charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicle Act,” said Shakil Shaikh, senior police inspector, Ulhasnagar police station.
