28-year-old attacks supervisor with iron rod, kills him after spat near Mumbai

A 28-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly beating his supervisor to death with an iron rod following a heated argument at Raymond Ltd’s factory in Thane, the police said.
On Sunday, the victim Siddharth Marathe,28, a supervisor and labour supplier, had a spat with the accused, Babasaheb Waghmare, 28, for not doing work properly, the police said.
In the wee hours of Monday, the Vartak Nagar police received a call that a man was lying in pool of blood inside the Raymond company compound. The police reached the spot and rushed Marathe to hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
“During investigations, after speaking to other labourers, we found that Waghmare and Marathe had a heated argument more than once on Sunday,” said a police officer from Vartak Nagar police station, requestion anonymity.
The police hunted down Waghmare and took him in for questioning. “During interrogation, he confessed to attacking Marathe,” the officer said.
The police said the duo had an argument on whose work was better once again late on Sunday. As the argument escalated, Waghmare picked up an iron rod lying on the spot and hit Marathe on the head two to three times, the officer said, adding: “Marathe collapsed and started bleeding profusely, and Waghmare fled.”
Waghmare has been arrested under section 302 ( punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
