3 women from Odisha held at Kalyan station with ganja worth ₹7.4 lakh
Cops said the women were lured with promise of easy money
Three women from Odisha were arrested by Thane crime branch unit 5 with 49.7kg ganja at Kalyan railway station on Tuesday.

The contraband, worth ₹7.4 lakh, was found hidden in four school bags.
Cops said Jannu Norsingh Dakva, 45, Sarojni Prakash Swain, 31, and Babbi Damru Reddy, 35, were lured with promise of easy money.
All three work as labourers in Odisha and were sent to Kalyan to deliver the school bags.
“The three women were asked to hand over the bags to a person at the Kalyan railway station,” said sub-inspector Shivraj Bendre from Thane crime branch unit 5.
“We got a tip-off about the women coming to Kalyan and laid a trap to arrest them,” Bendre added.
Bendre added probe has been initiated to find out the person who gave the woman and trace the syndicate involved in smuggling the contraband.
“A case has been registered against the women at Mahatma Phule police station. They agreed to transport the contraband, as they needed money,” he said.
