7-year-old boy killed with stone, no arrests yet
The Ambernath police have detained a person who had a heated argument with the boy’s father while drinking alcohol.
A seven-year-old boy was found dead in Ambernath hills on Thursday morning with his face badly smashed with a stone. Shivam Rajat’s body was identified with the help of his clothes and identification marks on his body.
The Ambernath police have detained a person who had a heated argument with the boy’s father while drinking alcohol. No arrests have been made so far.
Rajat went missing on Wednesday following which his parents lodged a complaint. The police discovered the boy’s body in the hills with his face severely battered.
Kashinath Chavan, senior police inspector from Ambernath police station, said, “The boy’s father Digvijay, 31, a rickshaw driver, had a heated argument with a man who was staying on rent in a house owned by Digvijay. Since the past month, both Digvijay and the person used to argue while drinking alcohol. We suspect this person might have killed the boy out of revenge. He is currently being detained.”
Police say that the boy’s face was beaten multiple times with a stone, to the point it was disfigured.
“We have also recovered the stone that was used to kill the boy. Further probe is on,” Chavan said.
