BMC to pay staff Diwali bonus ranging from Rs2,250 to Rs14,500; to spend Rs160 crore on it

There are 1.19 lakh BMC employees who will be given Diwali bonus.

With Diwali just a week ahead, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesdayannounced bonus for its employees, ranging from Rs2,250 to Rs14,500 . The civic body also estimated to spend more than Rs160 crore on it.

Earlier this week, worker’s association had demanded 20% of the salary as bonus amount.

In a group leader’s meeting in Tuesday, civic chief had suggested Rs13, 000 as Diwali bonus for the employees, which was Rs1,000 less than last year.
