Father held for raping daughter when she was minor

The DN nagar police in Andheri (west) have arrested a 50-year-old man for allegedly raping his 20-year-old daughter when she was a minor.

As per the complaint, she gave birth to a girl in 2013 born out of incest. She has been raising the child since then. The case has been transferred to Thane (rural) as the family stays there.

The girl used to come to Andheri for job and happened to tell her colleague about the incident after her father forcibly tried to take her home. Her colleagues then alerted cops, and the survivor was brought to the police station. The first rape incident took place in 2011 at their Thane rural residence, the police said.

She said that her mother left home when she was two-year-old. The accused has been handed over to the Thane rural police. The police will record the statement of her brother. An FIR has been registered under rape charges of the Indian Penal code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
