Mumbai city news: The participation of farmers’ families assumes significance against the backdrop of their recent agitation and demand for complete loan waivers
Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis celebrated International Yoga Day with 600 children from farmers’ families and Maharashtra’s tribal districts at the National Sports Club of India in Worli at 8.10 am on Wednesday. Bollywood star Jackie Shroff, yoga expert Vicky Mehta and social activist Shantilal Mutha joined the hour-long session.

Fadnavis, who presented his guests with saplings, said yoga has the power to help us overcome the challenges and ailments. He added that it is a natural source of energy.
Fadnavis’ wife Amruta, BJP MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha and industrialist Vallabh Bhansali participated in the session organised by Divyaj Foundation.
The participation of farmers’ families assumes significance against the backdrop of their recent agitation and demand for complete loan waivers.
Fadnavis also participated in a second yoga day session organised by BJP MP Poonam Mahajan and MLA Ashish Shelar in Bandra. Government employees and officials participated in a session led by minister of state for agriculture Sadabhau Khot at Mantralaya.
