In its second list of 52 candidates, the Congress has fielded former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan (Karad South), former minister Vasant Purke (Ralegaon), Shivajirao Moghe (Arni), former CM Vilasrao Deshmukh’s son Dhiraj (Latur Rural), sitting MLA Kunal Patil (Dhule Rural), along with lot of new faces.

The party fielded most of its sitting MLAs in the first list released on Sunday, barring the sitting MLAs, who were negotiating with the ruling parties.
Chavan’s name was held back as the party was considering him for the LS bypolls from Satara against Udayanraje Bhonsle. After he refused, he has been named as candidate from Karad South. Party’s Chikhali legislator Rahul Bondre, who was in talks with BJP, has been nominated.
Women cell chief of Mumbai Congress Ajanta Yadav has been nominated from Kandivli East. Hiraram Khoskar has been fielded from Igatpuri after party’s sitting MLA Nirmala Gavit quit the party to join Sena. Journalist Yuvraj Mohite has been fielded from Goregaon.
