Man from Mumbai who raped friend’s wife arrested
The second accused was the survivor’s 32-year-old estranged husband who had been arrested by police in April
The Bandra police have arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly kidnapping and gang raping a 28-year-old woman. He was reportedly in hiding in Virar after the crime in March. The other accused, the woman’s 32-year-old estranged husband, had already been arrested by the police in April.

On March 12, the survivor was called to Pali Hill by her 32-year-old husband on some pretext. “The woman reached the spot, and a paan shop owner saw the two of them arguing. The husband was accompanied by his friend. As per the survivor’s statement, she was dragged into a taxi and taken to Virar,” said a police officer.
In her statement, the survivor said that she was kept in a room, beaten up and gang raped by the duo. She escaped the next morning when the accused were asleep. She approached the Virar police six days after the incident. The police registered a first information report, and the case was then transferred to the Bandra police station.
