Mumbai constable’s 24-year-old son died in a bike accident, the other suffered multiple injuries

The victim has been identified as Rahul Kamble. His brother, Mohit, who was riding pillion suffered severe injuries.

The 24-year-old son of a police constable died after his bike crashed into a road divider on the eastern express highway (EEH) on Friday night. The victim has been identified as Rahul Kamble. His brother, Mohit, who was riding pillion suffered severe injuries.

The two had left from their home in the Mulund (West) police quarters at around 6pm to meet a friend in Nahur area. The accident took place ahead of the Airoli junction when they were on their way back from Nahur. As he was riding at a high speed, Rahul lost control of the bike and dashed into the divider between the service road and the highway, said the police.

Rahul suffered an injury to the head, while Mohit suffered multiple injuries including a leg fracture. The duo was rushed to the hospital, where Rahul died during the treatment. Senior inspector Madhav More of the Navghar police station, said, “At the time of incident, Rahul was riding the bike while Mohit was riding pillion.

The bike was a KTM, which is a high-speed bike. Rahul had asked Mohit to time him, and see how long it would take for them to reach home while riding at 100 kilometres per hour.” Rahul was a third-year commerce student and Mohit is a second-year commerce student.
