Police nab site supervisor for stealing ₹1.6 lakh
Pandey took the money from the manager in Powai but instead of paying labourers, disappeared with it
After being on the run for nearly a year, the Powai police successfully traced and arrested a site supervisor from Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh (UP) for allegedly running away with the money that he was supposed to distribute to his labourers.

According to the police, the accused worked as a supervisor in an international firm. The office manager of the firm had lodged a first information report (FIR) against the accused Om Pratap Pandey, 50, with the Powai police, last year, under section 408 of the Indian Penal code (IPC) for criminal breach of trust.
Rs 1.6 lakh was to be paid to labourers for working on a one month fabrication contract at Wada in Palghar district. Pandey took the money from the manager in Powai but instead of paying labourers, disappeared with it.
The Powai police said he made a trip to Goa and then went back to UP. Recently, acting on a tip off the Powai police was sent to Jaunpur and Pandey was brought back to the city on Saturday.
The police are questioning him about what he did with the money.
