Police said the victims are all Kandivli residents. They were returning from Pune in a Maruti Suzuki van. As they crossed Pansil village near Rasayani around 5.30 am, the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a tree.
“It appears that the driver tried let another car overtake him as the driver was honking repeatedly. However, he lost control,” said an officer from Rasayani police station.
