10-year-old girl’s body found in Mankhurd

The unidentified body of a 10-year-old girl, wrapped in a bed sheet, was found lying in a secluded spot near the Mankhurd station on Monday.

The body was found around 12 noon by a passerby who informed the Mankhurd police. The police said that the body, which was found wrapped in a black bed sheet, was taken to Rajawadi Hospital. They are awaiting the post mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death.

The girl was found wearing a yellow salwar kameez with floral print. The police have not found any missing person complaint registered of a girl matching the description of the deceased.

A senior officer from Mankhurd police station said, “There are no visible physical injuries that have been found on the girl’s body. We have registered a case of accidental death for now. We will be able to ascertain what caused the death only after we get the post mortem report. The girl died around a day ago as the body was just starting to decompose.”
