BG Shekhar, deputy commissioner of police, SSB, said, “The pilot project with 102 children is likely to start in the coming academic year. The aim is to educate 1,000 children, including street urchins rescued by the branch.”

While the children have been identified by NGOs, those keen on pursuing studies have been chosen. The SSB has roped in private donors and corporate houses to fund the project.
