The deputy commissioner of police, Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS), had shot himself with his private revolver while having lunch with his wife and sons at a restaurant.
"He was already inebriated when he reached the hotel and further consumed four tequila shots and beer," said Raghuvanshi. Minutes before shooting himself, Banerjee, 43, told his elder son Arjun that he didn't want to live any more and that he had taken all possible steps to safeguard their future. "We are in the process of recording the statements of his family," Raghuvanshi said.
