The commission has summoned former Maharashtra chief ministers Vilasrao Deshmukh, Ashok Chavan and Sushilkumar Shinde to appear before it as witnesses.
Former Union environment minister Suresh Prabhu and state minister for water resources Sunil Tatkare are also among those summoned. All of them were expected to file their affidavits by May 23, but nobody filed affidavits on Monday.
The two-member commission, of retired high court judge JA Patil and former chief secretary P Subramaniam, has now given them time till May 26.
The controversial housing society at Colaba was originally meant to be a six-storeyed apartment block to house Kargil war heroes and widows. However, Adarsh society was later converted into a plush 31-storey building.
