If all goes to plan, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students will soon have a subject on financial literacy to study.

As the government strives to improve financial literacy in the country, the committee on Financial Investor Awareness Initiatives has said that it will explore the scope for introducing financial literacy in CBSE syllabi.
The committee argued that while subjects like human rights, environmental issues and disaster management have been included in the school curriculum, financial literacy is yet to be included in the school and college curriculum and thus has decided to explore its introduction in CBSE.
