“We have completed the ballistic tests and have already sent the report to the crime branch around two weeks back,” said an official from the FSL.

A crime branch officer said the matter is being investigated under the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU), where they are tallying the bullets with those issued from the licensed shops.

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), which is investigating the disproportionate assets case against Singh and his family, had come across the excess ammunition. Later, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed against Singh on April 14 with the Nirmal Nagar police station under the Arms Act.
