Will My Name is Khan have the peaceful release you promised?

We have taken all possible measures to protect movie-goers and theatres. The exhibitors and theater owners are satisfied with our arrangements.

So, what is your advice to Mumbaiites?

Be fearless and go out. The government is capable of taking care of vandals. We will do whatever it takes to secure people and property.

How is New Delhi reacting to Wednesday’s renewed protests and vandalism?

Delhi has no problems whatsoever. In fact, the whole world is watching how some people are holding the city to ransom and how we are tackling them. I would like to tell the parties that they should stop [the violence and vandalism] immediately. I’m sure all will be well.

Did you mean it when you threatened to recall Uddhav Thackeray’s security detail?

I wanted to send across the message that no person having availed [of] government security should indulge in violence [on the streets].
