Hasan Ali Khan, who is currently lodged in Arthur Road jail on money-laundering charges, suffered a paralytic attack, claimed his advocate Ishwar Prasad Bagaria. Following the attack, Hasan Ali could not move his right hand and leg and the jail authorities are not taking him to the hospital, claimed the advocate.
The jail authorities denied any such condition, and said that Hasan Ali was walking around comfortably within the jail premises. They said doctors at JJ Hospital are examining him since the past four days. “We take him to the hospital as directed by the sessions court. He was taken to the hospital on Saturday and was walking around comfortably,” said A Rane, superintendent of Arthur Road jail.
Bagadia said that he had approached his client on Saturday to get a petition signed by him when he noticed that Hasan Ali’s right hand and leg were not moving. Bagadia further said that the jail authorities administered an injection instead of taking him to the hospital.
Bagadia said that he would be moving an application to direct the jail authorities to provide medical aid to his client on Monday, as the court would be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
“We will move the higher court and also the human rights commission over the issue if required,” Bagadia added.
