Social activist Anna Hazare will begin an indefinite fast in Delhi on October 2 for the implementation of the Jan Lokpal Bill, sources close to him said.

In a blog posted on Thursday, Hazare recalled two years of agitation for Jan Lokpal and accused the Centre of cheating people by sitting on the bill and appealed to the people to come out to the streets in protest against the central rule marked by corruption and inflation.
The fast will go parallel to the Delhi assembly election campaign in which Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadami Party has high stakes.
Although Hazare and Kejriwal have parted ways on the issue of floating a political party, Hazare has always shown sympathy for Kejriwal.
At his 75th birthday last week, Hazare, while attacking Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi, hinted that he might support Kejriwal’s candidates if they had a clean record.
Meantime, Hazare has suspended his tour to Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh scheduled to begin on June 23 as he is going to undergo a minor eye surgery. He will undertake the tour after the operation, sources said.
