The state has geared up its legal team to file an appeal against the acquittal of two others in the 26/11 attacks case before the stipulated 90-day deadline of August 4.
The special sessions court has forwarded the confirmation of Kasab's death sentence to the HC, which may come up for hearing next week before the division bench of Justice Ranjana Desai and Justice V.K. Tahilramani.
The HC will fix a date to start hearing the confirmation case as well as the appeal filed by Kasab.
