The Khar police registered a case of molestation against an employee of a popular gymnasium in Khar (West).

Nitesh More, 28, who works as a trainer with Leena Mogre’s gymnasium, was arrested on Monday evening, police said.

The 31-year-old victim works as a project manager in a real estate firm and resides in Bandra with her husband. According to her complaint, the incident took place on November 4 inside the gym.

The victim said: “While working out, I felt Nitesh was trying to get overtly physical with me. He was also touching me inappropriately. I reported the matter to Leena and Nikhil Mogre, but no action was taken.”

The victim said the gym authorities kept delaying any conclusion in the matter.

“They said they couldn't ask him to leave as he was a personal trainer of several high profile clients,” she said.

Soon after, the complainant and her husband left for South Africa to attend a family wedding. She returned on November 29 following which she again approached the gym authorities, but this time too, she claims, no action was taken. Finally she approached the Khar police on Monday and lodged a complaint.

“I have been a member of the gym for the past three years, but such a thing has never happened before,” she said.

Mangesh Pote, senior inspector, Khar police station, said that acting on the information given by the victim, they have registered a case of outraging the modesty of a woman.

Leena Mogre, owner of the gym, refuted all allegations. “The allegations are false and the matter is under investigation,” she said.

According to the victim, instead of taking any action against the suspect, the gym management had said they would change her trainer and also penalise him by cutting his one-month salary.
