The advocate, Sanjana S Badsiwal, who is one-month pregnant and has a two-and-a-half year-old kid, said the alleged incident took place on June 12.
Addressing a press conference in Mumbai last evening, Badsiwal said she was abused and assaulted by her brother and sister-in-law over a long-pending property dispute.
She went to Kapurbawdi police station in Mumbai to lodge a complaint against the duo.
Instead of taking down the complaint, senior inspector BR Chowdhary allegedly abused her without any provocation.
When she threatened to report the matter to the police commissioner, Chowdhary allegedly slapped her and put her in the lock-up along with her kid, the advocate said.
Badsiwal said she was booked under IPC section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons means) and granted bail by a local court the next day.
Chowdhary has denied the charges levelled by the advocate, who has filed a complaint against him.
