Pratyusha knew Rahul wasn’t right for her: Parents
The FIR was filed after Banerjee’s mother Soma pressed charges against Rahul. Soma arrived at the police station on Tuesday afternoon and gave a fresh statement to the police
Pratyusha Banerjee’s parents on Tuesday said the actor wanted to correct her “wrong decision” of choosing boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh.
Her friends claimed that the actor came to know only recently that Rahul had been married previously.
“She believed in astrology and asked me to read her sunsign. She, being a Leo, would have a good year, I told her. She said her life was very difficult,” said Banerjee’s father Shankar.

Producer Vikas Gupta, who is also a friend of Banerjee, said, “Pratyusha only recently came to know that Rahul was married and that he has a son. She wanted to get out of the relationship.”
Her mother Soma said, “She had realised he is not right for her. She melted and lost her way thanks to his sweet talks.”
“She dreamt of getting married. She wanted to be around friends and enjoy the rituals. She simply met a wrong guy,” said Shankar.
He added that Rahul claimed he had four flats, three cars and 150 acres of land. “He even told Pratyusha that his mother is an MLA in Mandar, but we never found truth in his statements,” the father said.
Soma said, “He and I had not spoken for quite some time. She called on March 31 evening asking me if I spoke to him. I don’t even want to take his name. I told her to live happily. That was our last conversation.”
Soma was distraught after her daughter’s demise and repeatedly looked to her husband for strength.
Shankar said he still does not believe that their daughter has committed suicide and urged the police to investigate the case thoroughly.
Her parents refuted that Banerjee was out of work and said Rahul and his father used to handle her finances and that Rahul would use Banerjee’s debit card.
Shankar said Rahul had forced Banerjee to cut herself off from her staff, her parents and her friends.
Her parents also talked about fights between Rahul’s ex-girlfriend and Banerjee.
