Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Class 10 results will be declared online on Wednesday at 1pm. Nearly 3.7 lakh students from the city and 17 lakh students from the state appeared for the exam.
This year, students can apply to junior colleges through the online process from Thursday onwards by submitting their e-results, instead of waiting for their original marksheets, which will be sent to schools on June 22.
According to a press release issued by the state board, the online marksheet can be used for admission to junior colleges, first-year polytechnics and industrial training institutes. Bi-focal admissions will take place after the online admission procedure is completed.
This will be the last year when students can be awarded 25 extra marks for participating in sports as the scheme will be discontinued from the next academic year.
Students can also get a photocopy of their answer sheets through the Right to Information Act by paying Rs400 per copy. Students can apply for these till June 28. For result verification, students can apply till July 2.
Students are worried about the online admission procedure and hope that the process is both smooth and fruitful. “As cut-offs of top junior colleges are very high every year, I am worried about not getting the college of my preference. I hope to make it without any trouble,” said Sherin Lewis, a student of Holy Family School.
