‘Students can seek question paper after CET’

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) will have to furnish a copy of the physics-chemistry question paper of the Common Entrance Test (CET) for medical courses held on May 10, the Bombay high court said on Tuesday.

Ashwini Patankar had approached the court seeking the appointment of an expert each in physics and chemistry to check the correctness of the question paper of MHT-CET-12 as also that of the model answer sheet prepared by DMER.

Patankar, who got 87% in the HSC examination with 93 in physics and 83 in chemistry, doubted the correctness of the CET question paper and the model answer sheets, as she got 97 out of 100 in biology, but only 63 out of 100 in the combined physics-chemistry paper. “Disclosing information will promote transparency and facilitate confidence in the examination process,” the division bench said.

“We see no reason to prohibit the disclosure of the question paper to the student after the examination is held and answer sheets evaluated,” it added.
