Additional district magistrate who allegedly beat up Army veteran in Noida suspended
Noida authorities demolished an alleged illegal structure at the ADM’s residence in Sector 29 of Noida on Thursday morning, which had become the bone of contention between ADM and the colonel.
The additional district magistrate of a western UP district was suspended on Thursday evening, six days after he was booked by Noida police for attempting to murder an Army veteran.
The directive came from the Uttar Pradesh government after the administration received flak for the manner in which retired Army colonel Virendra Pratap Singh Chauhan was treated by the ADM and police.
‘‘The ADM has been suspended with immediate effect. Regarding allegations against the accused ADM, the divisional commissioner of Chitrakoot will initiate an enquiry,” said a UP government spokesperson.
