A video, claimed to have been shot in Gurgaon’s MG Road, surfaced on social media on Sunday in which a group of women are beating up a man who allegedly molested one of them.
In the video which is being circulated and was apparently shot at night, four-five women are seen thrashing a man who allegedly tried to harass one of them. The audio of the video is unclear and one can’t identify why the women are beating the man.
The authenticity of the video, however, is being questioned by the police.
Vikas Kaushik, Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector 29 police station, said that neither did the police receive any complaint regarding the matter nor was a PCR call made on Saturday night (when the video was supposedly shot).
“I was patrolling on MG Road with my team till about 2 am on Saturday night. I was present outside Sahara Mall but no such case came to light,” Kaushik said.
The police, on getting information about the video, went to the area and questioned the guards and shops that are open late at night, the SHO said.
“But nobody saw anything. We are trying to identify eyewitnesses as well, but haven’t found anyone,” he said.
Kaushik also said that had there been such an incident, there would have been some complaint.
A police personnel, on the condition of anonymity, said it might be possible that the man was a friend of the girls and that a fight broke out between them.
