Residents of sectors 62, 34, 33, 44, 63, 77, 83, 75, among other areas, have compiled a list of roads that are in a poor condition and submitted it to the Noida authority.

The list, which includes the names of broken internal and external roads in these sectors, has been submitted with the district administration as well.

The poor and potholed roads have been causing a lot of problems to commuters, say residents.

The residents are likely to meet chief executive officer (CEO) of the Noida authority, PK Aggarwal, on Monday.

“In Sectors such as 62 and 83, most of the internal and external roads are in a very bad condition. The rains have washed away the upper layer completely. This happened because poor quality construction materials were used by the contractor to build the roads,” said Vipin Malhan, president of the Noida Entrepreneurs Association (NEA) that wrote to chief minister Akhilesh Yadav demanding a probe in the matter.

Amit Gupta of Sector 77 said, “The condition of the roads in Sector 75 and 77 is pathetic and it has happened due to the leakage in the Ganga water pipeline. I have informed officials many a times about the leakage and the condition of the road but they have turned a deaf ear to our requests.”

“In our sectors, roads along the metro track (from Botanical Garden to Kalindi Kunj) have gone from bad to worse. The authority is aware of the condition as we have written to them many a times but nothing has happened,” said Sudhir Sood of Sector 44.

The Noida authority, meanwhile, said they have received complaints from residents about poor condition of roads.

“We are filling potholes. We will repair all roads that developed potholes in the recent rains,” said PK Garg, project engineer, Noida authority.
