The District Judge, Mandhatta Singh, granted the bail after hearing R D Sinha, counsel for Mohan, and J P Singh, who represented the state.

In his complaint, Singh accused Mohan of misbehaving with him and threating him at a party hosted by Kartik Kumar, a resident of Patliputra in Patna, on May 2, 2005.

Earlier, Kartik Kumar had, in an affidavit filed in the court, contradicted the allegation saying no such incident had occurred at the party.
