Photos: India’s Covid-19 tally over 2.52 million, death toll nearing 50,000
India’s Covid-19 casecount soared to more than 2.52 million according to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry on August 15. Continuing a worrying trend of daily cases in the 60,000 bracket, 65,002 new infections were logged as of last count. The death toll from the disease is also fast approaching the 50,000 cases mark. There is however positive news in terms of the recovery rate, which is now past 70% as a national average. The case fatality rate forte disease has also dropped to below 2%.
